We’ve just returned from a long weekend at the cottage, myself, husband, two children and one dog. We have absolutely loved it from the moment we arrived! The kids actually didn’t want to go out during the day as they loved the cottage and hot tub so much. The garden is really pretty and enclosed so perfect for the dog. The hot tub is gorgeous and super relaxing. The area itself is really peaceful and private, we hardly heard a sound whilst staying there. It’s really close to Curbar edge which was a gorgeous walk, and plenty of local dog friendly pubs nearby (we loved The Bridge Inn!). The cottage itself was really cosy and comfortable, it had everything you needed and was really pretty as well. Bedrooms were lovely and cosy, bathroom was spotless, kitchen was great and had everything you might want. Looked exactly like the photos. 10/10 and we’ve already said we will stay again ☺️

Wow! What can we say - a perfect place! We visited Jack’s cottage in June for my birthday and had the best time. Cottage is outstanding with everything you could wish for. Beautifully furnished, lovely garden, peaceful and private location, just gorgeous! Communication with Matt was spot on and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jack’s cottage to anyone who wanted a few days away in the beautiful Peak District. We can’t wait to come back! 👌🏻

What a delightful cottage. We had 4 nights in June, my wife and I, plus our 2 dogs.
The location was perfect. A quiet back lane, no traffic and very peaceful. 10 minute walk to a pub. Its located on the hillside meaning its not far to get up on to Curbar or Baslow Edges. If the edges aren't your thing then it's only a 10 minute walk to the river where you can walk both sides for short or longer walks.
The garden is mature with little paths leading round and is fully enclosed with a nice view of the hills. Hot tub was a welcome place to relax.
Inside, the kitchen had all we needed to cook our own meals, and a dining table to eat at. Lounge was comfy with a big tv. Broadband was good, able to stream without issue. Bedroom was big and bed was very comfortable.
Matt the owner popped in a few times to check on ph level of hot tub and was very friendly and good to chat to. Very respectful though of our personal space.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jack's cottage and we will definitely be going back.

Lovely cottage in a peaceful location and within easy driving distance to great locations for walking, pubs for good grub and all other Peak District attractions. Cottage has a lovely charm and pretty secluded garden with a great hot tub. Kitchen is great with super electric oven range, only thing missing was microwave oven if you want a quick easy meal using that method. Would recommend.

Matthew communicated really well and provided all the details we needed and more.
The cottage was absolutely stunning in a gorgeous location that was close to all the best local walks. The garden was just perfect. Secure for the dog and perfectly placed seating areas for us to dine and relax outside. The hot tub was amazing and we spent a good deal of our stay in there.
Inside, the cottage was lovely. The decor was beautiful and from hot tub towels, to dog blankets, chocolates by the cosy beds, to complimentary slippers we were truly spoilt. We really felt like Matt and Ginny wanted us to enjoy our stay and feel special.
Matt's local guidebook was really helpful to us, with details about local walks, places to visit and eat. It really helped us plan our stay.
The village itself was just beautiful. Friendly neighbours, flowers, trees and wildlife a plenty.
We're a group of 4 friends with a dog who are always on the look out for the perfect yearly retreat. We definitely found it!

Jack’s Cottage was a lovely place to stay in the heart of the Peak District. The cottage matched the description perfectly and had all the amenities mentioned. The cottage was easy to find and our hosts were always there to help us with walking suggestions and places to eat out at. The hot tub was a highlight for us for our girls weekend away. There are some beautiful walks just on the doorstep and some beautiful places to hike just a short drive away. The cottage was very aesthetic, pink and a great place for a friends get away. We would definitely look to book again if we were to come back to the Peak District.

Jack’s Cottage is the perfect place to stay for a holiday in the Peak District. Charming little cottage with everything you need (plus a few nice extras) to feel instantly at home. Kids loved the hot tub and huge TV ! We loved having beautiful walks on the doorstep, or a short drive away. So many pubs close by so only cooked once, which was a breeze in the lovely kitchen. Would definitely return, and recommend to anyone. Also dog friendly so big bonus for us : ) Thanks Matt and Ginny.

We had a lovely stay at this cottage. Had some beautiful walks and views surrounding the cottage and some lovely pubs too! Matt gave clear instructions on how to get there and was very friendly and responsive to messages. The cottage was so clean and aesthetic and the hot tub was great too! Perfect garden for my dog as it was secure and plenty of room for him to roam around. The beds were very cosy as was the living room! Absolutely no complaints about this cottage, perfect for our girls weekend!

We enjoyed our return trip to Jack’s Cottage just as much as our first visit last summer, if not more.
The cottage is a cosy haven with loads of thoughtful and luxurious touches throughout. We made the most of the lovely log burner and hot tub which were very welcome treats after a day out and about.
A brilliant location close to lots of places of interest, and would recommend Curry Cottage and Toll Bar fish and chips for takeaways/local places to eat.
Matt is a friendly and courteous host who made sure we had another great stay.
We’ll be back again I’m sure!

We had a fabulous 3 night stay at Jack’s cottage. Lovely and clean, fresh smelling sheets, lots of towels provided and some treats on arrival. The bed was very comfortable and the surrounding area is so quiet and peaceful.
The cottage is lovely and has lots of character. Our dog loved the garden, lots of bits to explore while we enjoyed the hot tub (heaven!).
Everything has been thought out- hot tub towels and slippers provided, plastic cups to use while outside and even ‘pooch blankets’ provided which was a lovely touch. Thank you Matt and Ginny for a lovely stay, we would highly recommend.
